Indianapolis, IN – Indiana Campus Compact is proud to announce its designation by the Internal Revenue Service as a public charity with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. With this new designation, Indiana Campus Compact can broaden its access to resources and strengthen its ability to serve institutions of higher education and their community partners across the state of Indiana.

“Obtaining 501(c)(3) status is a major milestone for Indiana Campus Compact,” says Executive Director J.R. Jamison. “After operating for 25 years as an unincorporated entity, this opens many doors for the organization to expand fundraising activities and fully realize its goals as a charitable educational organization invested in community engagement and building future leaders equipped to advance the public good in and with their communities.”

Indiana Campus Compact Board Chair and IUPUI Chancellor Nasser Paydar says, “Indiana Campus Compact invests in its partner colleges and universities through trainings, grants, and the professional network it provides for faculty, staff, and students. Through that support, Indiana institutions of higher education are able to partner with community agencies to actualize our joint commitment to community-campus engagement for systematic change toward a healthier democracy.”

Formed in 1993, Indiana Campus Compact is a partnership of college and university presidents and chancellors who have committed themselves, and their institutions, to their communities through mutually beneficial and meaningful collaborations to create engaged citizens and vibrant communities.

Indiana Campus Compact is the only organization in the state that works with public, independent, and two-year institutions of higher education.
