Kristin Norris, Ph.D.., joined IUPUI in 2007 and is now the Director of Assessment for the Office of Community Engagement. Kristin is responsible for monitoring and assessing outcomes related to both curricular and co-curricular community engagement at IUPUI. Kristin works with several units across campus as well as faculty and staff to provide evidence that supports IUPUI’s Strategic Plan as well as the goals and objectives for the Office of Community Engagement.
Her research focuses on the role of civic mentoring in student development of civic-mindedness. In addition, she has developed a reputation on and off campus for an innovative critical reflection strategy that results in deeper learning called digital storytelling. Kristin earned her B.S. from Purdue University and M.S. from Indiana University in Hospitality & Tourism Management and her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the IU School of Education at Indiana University. She serves on Indiana Campus Compact’s Advisory Board and is an active member of the International Association for Research on Service Learning and Community Engagement (IARSLCE).
