Phases 4 & 5: Reporting Results to Influence Decision-making around Community Engagement & Becoming an Advocate for Assessing Civic Outcomes

In this, the final phase of a series of workshops on rigorous and creative assessment, attendees will learn about how important it is to make sure that data and information generated from an assessment activities is useful- to not only the individual instructor or program officer but to the institution in fulfilling its civic mission. Best practices regarding how to best report and communicate the results of an assessment activity will be shared by experienced faculty and staff from partner institutions. Finally, a panel of professionals in assessing community engagement activities (faculty and staff) will engage in a lively discussion about how they have utilized the results of concerted assessment and tracking activities to advocate for better or stronger: resources, promotion and tenure policies that recognize and support these activities, recruitment and retention efforts (of either faculty, staff, or students, etc. Participation in a prior workshop regarding how to write, map, and/or measure specific civic outcomes with your course or program’s curriculum or activities is highly encouraged (see Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3).

Registration will open in November 2016.
