Annual Networking Retreat

September 30 @ 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

| Free for ICC partner campuses

Students, Faculty, and Staff - you’re invited!

This annual retreat is open only to our partner campuses and is a chance for faculty, staff, and students, of all levels of involvement in service learning, to hone their skills and leave rejuvenated and ready to work.

Dolabany-Register

We will begin the day with an opening presentation on our Indiana Bicentennial from Jylian Vigar, Communications Specialist for the Indiana Bicentennial Commission (and recent Butler grad!). Jylian will discuss the ways in which our partner campuses can celebrate our state’s birthday. There will be trivia and prizes - so bring your thinking caps!

As always, we will have two tracks for faculty and staff, and new this year, we will provide a track designed for students.

KJ introTrack one will be a full day program limited to 25 people. Through Investing in Strengths, you will receive a one-time use only code prior to this program so that you can bring your Clifton Strengthfinder assessment results with you. With over 600 campuses using these resources, Kelli Jo McNemar, Executive Director of West Virginia Campus Compact and Certified Gallup Coach is looking forward to exploring your individual results and working with you to identify ideas for actions you can take.

Track two will consist of three peer-led workshops designed to provide participants with time to reflect, rejuvenate, and re-group.

Track three will include multiple workshops and presentations for students. Click here for full agenda.

  • Charlie Lienemann & Niki Messmore, IUPUI will present Identity & Social Issues: What are your motivations for doing this work?
  • Amanda Bremmer & Anna Droste-Glowinski, Ivy Tech Community College – Central Region will present Planning Meaningful Service Events
  • Laura Weaver and Anne Weiss, Indiana Campus Compact will present Diving Deep into Community Engagement: Best Practices in Facilitating Reflection
  • The student track will wrap up with R2: Resource Roundtable - participants will have the opportunity to visit two of the five roundtables during this 35 minute session.
    • Niki Messmore will facilitate #socialmediaforservice
    • Amanda Bremmer and Anna Droste-Glowinski will facilitate Now What Do I Do? Dealing with the unexpected
    • Jyian Vigar, Indiana Bicentennial Commission will facilitate Celebrating our Legacy

Participants in all three tracks will leave the retreat with new ideas and the tools to implement them.

Please note that this Retreat is very casual. We will be traveling via paved trails through the woods between buildings, so plan to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. We have gotten very lucky with the weather the past few years, but just in case, it wouldn’t hurt to bring umbrellas.

Registration is free for members of Indiana Campus Compact partner campuses.
