welcome to Indiana Campus Compact

For over 20 years, Indiana Campus Compact (ICC) has helped member institutions mobilize students state-wide to communities in need. In 2014, ICC supported over 13,000 individuals through grant programs, professional development opportunities, resources, and networking. Indiana Campus Compact was formed in 1993 as a formal compact between Indiana college and university presidents to commit themselves to their communities through service. ICC is the only organization in the state that works with public, independent, and two-year institutions of higher education.

Start the new year off with a bargain from Indiana Campus Compact Publications - Buy Charting the Course and get the THIN Book for free!

Not familiar with these volumes?  Both of the books were written by Indiana Campus Compact Faculty Fellows and provide essential tools for faculty in service-learning.  The THIN Book is for faculty new to service-learning and Charting the Course is for more experienced faculty, though both books are indispensable additions to any library.

  • The THIN Book of Service Learning for Faculty is a slim, 53 page book created by the 2004-2005 class of Indiana Campus Compact Faculty Fellows and provides an excellent resource for faculty members new to developing service-learning courses. Emerging faculty are the primary audience for this detailed, how-to guide to develop an effective, meaningful course with reciprocal impact within the community. This book would be an excellent tool to provide faculty or student affairs administrators to introduce the key concepts of service-learning course development in a department or at an institution that is just beginning to develop this area of work.

  • Charting the Course for Service-Learning is a comprehensive text and is an important tool for faculty who have a wide range of experience in service-learning course development. Thirteen topical chapters are included and cover a range of topics, including: administrative issues, promotion and tenure, community partnerships, student benefits, syllabus design, funding options, and budget development, reflection and preflection, celebration and recognition and advocacy. Included with the workbook is a CD that contains templates for ideas presented in each of the topical chapters.
