|
As part of the national Raise Your Voice Campaign, Indiana Campus Compact (ICC) has given Indiana college students a chance to spend a day talking to their legislators, expressing their thoughts on issues important to them, learning more about the political process in a hands-on atmosphere, and encouraging students to get involved to create real change in their communities. We've helped our members, 32 colleges and universities across Indiana, shape the lives of students by introducing them to the broader responsibilities of an educated citizenry. The Feb. 20th program will start at the Statehouse Rotunda with breakfast, registration, resources, and welcomes from 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The program will then move to the Hyatt Regency Hotel and will include extensive dialogue on current legislative issues, guest speakers, be involved in breakout sessions, and attend a complimentary networking luncheon with legislators where they may aks questions and voice their opinions. Students may also take part in a tour of the House of Representatives and Senate at 3:30 if they would like to participate. (see agenda below for additional information). Please RSVP to J.R. Jamison [email protected] or Liza Newman [email protected] by Wednesday, February 15, 2006. We will need the names, email addresses and poisition (student, faculty, staff, other) of each person attending. This event is free and you are welcome to bring as many students, or colleagues as you wish. We look forward to seeing you there!
