ICC Richard J. Wood Student Community Commitment Award

The Richard J. Wood Award was established to recognize students at Indiana Campus Compact member campuses who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to community engagement.

The Wood Student Community Commitment Award was created in 1996 in honor of Dr. Richard J. Wood who served as the founding chairperson of Indiana Campus Compact and President's Board from 1992 to 1996. This award continues Dr. Wood's legacy as an advocate of students as stewards to the community

Any student from an Indiana Campus Compact member institution may apply for the Richard J. Wood Student Community Commitment Award.

ESSAY GUIDELINES

• Describe the direct community service, service learning, and community engagement activities you have participated in during your collegiate experience.
• Describe the impact this service activity has had on meeting community needs and affecting long-term solutions. Include qualitative information such as quotes and stories along with quantitative information.
• Reflect upon how your involvement as a community engaged leader has affected your personal, professional, and academic development and how it will influence your future civic leadership and community engagement.
