welcome to Indiana Campus Compact

For over 20 years, Indiana Campus Compact (ICC) has helped member institutions mobilize students state-wide to communities in need. In 2014, ICC supported over 13,000 individuals through grant programs, professional development opportunities, resources, and networking. Indiana Campus Compact was formed in 1993 as a formal compact between Indiana college and university presidents to commit themselves to their communities through service. ICC is the only organization in the state that works with public, independent, and two-year institutions of higher education.

A Journey through Service-Learning in Cyprus: An International Case Study on Peacemaking

This was a unique opportunity to participate in a learning experience for 17 days. The university students participated in peacemaking educational efforts to prepare youth at Highgate School to become better citizens through conflict resolution.

Roundabout Opera for Kids: Serving and Being Served through Arts Outreach Programming

ROK performs age-appropriate operas and musicals for area elementary-aged children at no cost. This not only supports arts education, but also extends the college students education and fosters a habit of community service by the participating musicians.

The Development of Health Care Service -Learning Project for Project Management Course

Integration of Case Studies Into Class For the Development of Home Exercise Programs

This project helped the community partner through the development of home exercise programs and exposed students to a unique population that has socio-economic and other secondary issues not seen in the young athletic population.

Interpersonal Relationships in the Community: Learning, Leading, & Serving

Presenters will share their experiences working with community members including children and adolescents, women in a transitional shelter, church-affiliated individuals, and batterers using skills learned in their courses.

Interprofessional Education and Service Learning: A case study

The purpose of this project was to deliver culturally competent care during an interprofessional educational experience, and determine the effect of an international service-learning experience in the Dominican Republic. Students wished to perform a community service by staffing a makeshift medical clinic to a squatter’s rights community grown up around a city landfill waste area, and to engage with people from a culture very different from their own, thereby increasing their cultural competence.

Developing Campus Community Partnerships and Creating Opportunities for Faculty and Students to Develop Democratic Deliberation Skills

Synthetic Drugs: Best Practices for the Implementation of a Middle-School Education/Prevention Program

Within the setting of a middle-school in Northeast Indiana, 223 eighth-grade students were educated on synthetic drugs after assessing the needs of the students and correlating information gathered in a mental health clinical setting in the area.
