College Postive Volunteers Training

September 27, 2012 Training as Regional Networking Council Meeting Pre-Conference

October 4, 2012 Training as Regional Networking Council Meeting Pre-Conference

CPV Training and Certification
College students, administrators and faculty members can become College Positive Volunteers by participating in a training session and completing three reviews. Below is a brief outline of the training curriculum.

CPV Training Curriculum
Part 1: What is College Access and College Positive Volunteerism
Part 2: Being a College Positive Volunteer
Part 3: Paying for College

After each section students will complete a ten question review and a corresponding interactive activity. The average training session lasts about two and a half hours. Individuals who successfully complete all reviews will become certified CPVs.

CPV Train-the-Trainer Curriculum
College students, administrators and faculty members can also be trained to train others as CPVs. Those who are trained as trainers will receive a handbook with potential talking points, activities and additional resources to accompany each slide of the CPV presentation.

CPV Toolkit
Each college student who attends a training session will receive a CPV Toolkit. The CPV Toolkit is a useful resource for college students to take with them into their K-12 community sites.

CPV Train the Trainer Resources
Individuals trained as CPV Trainers receive a Train-the-Trainer Handbook, as well as training activity packets, training review sheets and an electronic version of the CPV training presentation. This ensures that CPV Trainers are prepared to train college students as CPVs on their campus and in their communities.
