2012-2013 Student Success Mentors

The Student Success Mentor (SSM) program is a collaborative effort between Indiana Campus Compact (ICC) and the Indiana Youth Institute (IYI). The SSM program is a peer mentoring initiative that will engage current Indiana college student leaders in a year-long commitment to peer mentoring, service engagement, leadership development, and student retention and success.

The SSM program aims to:

  1. Increase student retention and success by providing on-campus peer mentor programming and support for incoming first year Twenty-first Century Scholars participating in the Indiana College Success Mentoring (ICSM) program; and
  2. Enhance the overall collegiate experience for first year ICSM Twenty-first Century Scholars by providing meaningful networking opportunities, peer mentoring and support, leadership development programs, and civic engagement activities.

The SSM program is designed to assist in the personal, professional, social, and academic acclimation of first year ICSM Twenty-first Century Scholars to college by cultivating positive relationships with on-campus peer mentors. In addition to providing peer mentoring and support, SSM mentors connect students to on-campus information and resources about student clubs and organizations, service engagement opportunities, and various academic and co-curricular resources.
