welcome to Indiana Campus Compact

For 20 years, Indiana Campus Compact (ICC) has helped member institutions mobilize students state-wide to communities in need. ICC advances the public purpose of colleges and universities by deepening their ability to improve community life and educate students for civic and social responsibility. This work is accomplished at many levels by engaging faculty, staff, students, university administrators, and community partners in this work. In 2012, ICC supported nearly 60,000 individuals through grant programs, professional development opportunities, resources, and networking.

Join an innovative national research initiative

Don’t miss your opportunity to measure your students’ aggregate voting rates via CIRCLE’s new National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement (NSLVE). The sign-up deadline is March 15, 2013.  And it’s free, easy, confidential, and FERPA-compliant.

Participating campuses:

  1. Will learn valuable baseline data that can be used for comparisons in upcoming election years;
  2. Will help build a national database for future research on college student voting and civic learning;
  3. Can compare their voting rates with those of their peers; and
  4. May request customization and participate in a special study (hurry because there’s a cap on the number of campuses that can do this).

The National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement (NSLVE) is a national student voter engagement research study open to all Campus Compact member campuses. This study offers colleges and universities an opportunity to measure student registration and voting rates and to study the effectiveness of educational programs designed to increase civic learning and engagement in democracy. By participating, your institution can join an innovative national research initiative.

How it works:

Whether an individual registers and votes is a matter of public record; however, how an individual votes is not. A secure, confidential, and FERPA-compliant system for matching enrollment lists with public records has been created to gather voting rates for student bodies and specified subgroups. Participating campuses will receive a report on trends and patterns in aggregate findings. For specifics, see the NSLVE FAQs.
