For memebers only - save the date for the
Indiana Campus Compact Fall Networking Retreat
September 26, 2014
Participants in this members-only retreat will be able to choose from two tracks during a day of connecting with colleagues, rejuvenation, and professional development at Bradford Woods in Martinsville, IN.
Track One: Experienced practioners will spend the day doing some big picture thinking and planning for sustainability in their work. This open space meeting will be facilitated by Oren Pizmony-Levy, Assistant Professor, International and Comparative Education, Teacher’s College, Columbia University. Dr. Pizmony-Levy will guide participants through conversations and exercises to help them discover what they can do (together or on their own) to build infrastructure and sustain their work in service engagement with Indiana Campus Compact as a supporting agency.
Track Two: Members who are interested in taking part in multiple workshops will learn about connecting themselves with civic engagement, social justice, and the work we do through a training from the Center for Civic Reflection; connecting with other campuses and their communities with an Indiana Campus Compact Listening to Communities Meeting grant; and connecting with fellow Hoosiers through ALL-IN, a state-wide initiative from Indiana Humanities. Participants in these workshops will be divided into two groups so that they will be able to take part in all three workshops.
Presenters and facilitators for the workshop track are:
- Civic Reflection Training - Thomas Toney, Facilitator & Trainer, Chicago, IL.
- Developing a Listening to Communities Workshop – Michael Valliant, Community Engagement Coordinator, IU Bloomington, Chelsea Rood-Emmick, Executive Director of Civic Engagement, Ivy Tech Bloomington, and Heather Dalton-Miklozek, Community Engagement Director, Indiana State University.
- Integrating IN Humanities ALL-IN in Your Campus-wide Initiatives – Kristin Hess Communications and Program Officer, and Kristen Fuhs Wells, Director of Communications.
This retreat is free and open to all Indiana Campus Compact members.
Registration opens August 14, 2014.
