welcome to Indiana Campus Compact

For 20 years, Indiana Campus Compact (ICC) has helped member institutions mobilize students state-wide to communities in need. ICC advances the public purpose of colleges and universities by deepening their ability to improve community life and educate students for civic and social responsibility. This work is accomplished at many levels by engaging faculty, staff, students, university administrators, and community partners in this work. In 2012, ICC supported nearly 60,000 individuals through grant programs, professional development opportunities, resources, and networking.

Giving thanks

MS cropped for printEarlier this year, I wrote about the experience of sitting at the Indiana Campus Compact 20th Anniversary celebration and listening to some of our founding members share why Indiana Campus Compact was important to higher education 20 years ago and why it continues to be important to higher education today. As you may recall, what struck me in that moment was that each of us is a tiny part of a history and of a story that is so much larger than anyone of us.

Last month, Indiana Campus Compact released its annual report . As we worked to tell the story of what Indiana Campus Compact did last year, I was reminded that we, the staff of Indiana Campus Compact, are only a handful of characters in that story. The story of what Indiana Campus Compact did last year—which includes everything from providing support for the youngest and oldest of our neighbors to engaging students in state and local governance-- is the story of you—the members of Indiana Campus Compact. Through the Indiana Campus Compact network, we supported close to 900 faculty, staff and students on 42 college campuses who in turn impacted close to 60,000 people in our state through education, funding and advocacy.

As each of you gets ready to close another semester with final projects, exams, midnight breakfasts and other campus traditions, I want to thank you for making time to be a part of the Indiana Campus Compact story and for letting Indiana Campus Compact be a part of your story.
